Markup

This year, in addition to the rubalise, bicycle brigades (some paths of which are forbidden to them) and flagmen (especially for crossings), there will be colored arrows on the trail/walking routes to guide participants.

For the 32R&B, there will also be arrows but unlike the other distances, a GPX trace and/or a map (given out at the start) are essential because at the start and end of the run&bike course we will limit the signage (especially tape) to avoid interference with trail routes.

Here are the 5 types of arrows you are likely to encounter on the course(s): 52km, 32kmr&b, 26km, 10km and “go back”.

Tricolour ribbon is also used for the 52, 26 and 10km.

Overview

The prestigious site of the Hippodrome of Uccle-Boitsfort will once again be the scene of departures and arrivals for all distances. The Run and Bike has been revised to limit interactions with other distances for a distance of 32 km.

It’s a matter of setting out in teams of two runners through the Sonian Forest and the paths allowed or reserved for bikers. The riders can take turns at any time. The team must remain together throughout the race.

The Run & Bike will have another special feature. Indeed, the teams will have to start with the only help of their GPX course and/or a map that will be handed out before the start.

To validate their race, the Run and Bike team must prove their route by showing their GPX route and a photo, the nature of which will be revealed before the race. The Run & Bike and 52 km course will be common between km 8 and km 25.

When you arrive, the arrival village is transformed into a friendly place to welcome you and extend the after-race fun.

Advice for  Run&Bike teams

Based on the experience of previous editions, here are some tips:

– The length of the relays varies according to the individuals, the forces present in the team and the progress of the event but generally and at the beginning at least, the runner runs at least 30 seconds to 1 minute.

Reminder, except for mechanical problems with a bike (which would be delayed or which would have given up), teammates must stay “together”. Translation: the team cyclist cannot put down his bike and start running until the runner is at his height.

It is also highly recommended to bring with you: a warmer garment, a jacket, a raincoat, a minimum of 20 € to compensate for the unexpected replacement clothing and socks, an elastic band allowing to make a bandage or a strapping (mini 80cm x 3 cm). Warning: Riders are likely to be checked at any time on the course. The absence of part of the mandatory equipment will result in immediate disqualification.
