EUROPA TRAIL BRUSSELS

“In varietate concordia”, “united in diversity”, is the motto of the European Union (EU) and one of its most recent symbols, alongside the European flag and anthem. The phrase, which was incorporated into the Treaty of Rome in 2004 and was coined by Italian Nobel Prize winner Ernesto Teodoro Moneta, signifies that, through the EU, Europeans are working together for peace and prosperity, and that Europe’s many different cultures, traditions and languages are an asset to the continent.

Brussels, home to most of the European Union’s institutions, is considered the de facto political capital of the 27 member states. United in diversity is the ideal slogan to present the EuropaTrail, formerly known as the EcoTrail and later the MeyboomTrail, which is a nature race or walk in the heart of Europe, and which from 2024 aims to connect the different European communities living in Brussels in particular.

On Saturday, September 7, 2024, Brussels’ most popular nature race will welcome European delegations* and runners/walkers to an event that combines the festive (a moment of conviviality after the race in an exceptional setting) and sport on courses of 2 (children), 10, 26 or 52km. There’s also a 32km Run&Bike. In addition to the prize-winners, podiums will be awarded to the delegations best dressed in their national colors.

European delegations will be invited to participate under “their colors”, in the spirit of the European motto “in varietate concordia”!

Individual and group registrations are open.
